Oxford Street, Darlinghurst
The Oxford Street/ Taylor Square precinct takes centre stage as part of this year's Art & About program.
Art & About celebrates our city’s creativity and imagination. The program is year-round, transforming public and unusual spaces with temporary art installations, performances, and interactive works in plazas, parks, and streets.
We’re looking for new street banner designs that celebrate the identity of our Rainbow Precinct.
Up to 3 artists will be selected. Each artist may design up to 5 variations to be displayed as consecutive banners.
We'll pay $5,000 for each successful artwork and artists will be invited to participate in events and presentations held as part of the exhibition.
This is a fantastic opportunity to see your work in public spaces.
Apply online by 11:59pm on Tuesday 31 March.
Applications will need to provide:
an artwork statement describing the artwork concept and relevance to the communities, culture, history and/or character of Oxford Street
details on the artist's connection to the LGBTIQA+ or Oxford Street communities
a coloured design image/s of the proposed artwork.
