Destination Event Funding Program - Kiama

Supporting eligible major and destination categorised events, Kiama Council's Destination Event Funding Program provides financial support to organisers to deliver exceptional visitor-focused events that drive the local visitor economy in the Kiama Local Government Area in shoulder and off-peak times and enhance Kiama's reputation as a premier event destination.

The program assists event organisers in planning and delivering distinctive, high-quality experiences that:

• Attract visitors from outside the local region

• Encourage overnight stays and off-peak visitation

• Deliver measurable benefits to the local visitor economy

• Reflect Kiama’s unique coastal identity and community values

• Demonstrate strong governance, partnerships, and long-term sustainability

• Align with Council’s strategic goals to build a thriving, year-round visitor economy

Application maximum amounts

Destination Event

• Up to $10,000 Events in years 1-3

• Up to $8,000 Events in years 3+

Major Event

• Up to $20,000 Events in years 1-3

• Up to $10,000 Events in years 3+
