After five successful festival seasons Made in Sydney returns as one of Sydney Fringe Festival's flagship programs, presenting the best locally made independent work. Successful applicants will present a season at Sydney Fringe Festival 2026 in our Made in Sydney Hub. The festival will then work with the companies to secure additional touring opportunities.
The intention of Made in Sydney is to showcase exceptional Sydney stories that have clear proof of production and are ready to take the next step. The 2026 venue has not been confirmed.
We are seeking applications:
In the theatre, physical theatre, experimental performance and interdisciplinary genres.
That suit the festival model of presentation:
The show must be 60 minutes or less, no interval.
The show must have simple set requirements that can be set up and dismantled within quick turn-around scenarios.
The program will support two works in a double billing so it must be able to fit within a performance program with 30 minutes changeovers;
That can show clear development and previous presentation history of the work. This is not a program for first presentations or creative developments.
Where the work has already undertaken at least one successful season or public presentation and must have a producer attached to the project, separate from the performing artist.
