Does your precinct come alive after dark? If you're in Greater Sydney and building a safer, more vibrant night-time destination, now’s the time to get recognised.
Purple Flag is an international accreditation program that recognises vibrant, diverse and well-managed night-time precincts. Earning the Purple Flag signals to locals and visitors alike that your precinct is a safe, welcoming and thriving place to enjoy after dark.
Following a successful pilot, Purple Flag is rolling out across NSW, starting with Greater Sydney. Precincts in regional NSW will be invited to participate later in the program.
If your precinct is ready to begin the Purple Flag accreditation process, you can now submit a Registration of Interest. This is the first step in becoming a Purple Flag-accredited precinct. It lets us know you’re ready to participate, and gives our team the information we need to support you through the accreditation process.
Registrations of Interest are open to precincts located in Greater Sydney. Please note: both council-led and non-council-led precincts are eligible, but support from the relevant local council is required.
Review the Program Guidelines closely to satisfy yourself that your precinct is ready.

Submit a Registration of Interest form.
Once submitted, a member of the Purple Flag team will be in touch to discuss next steps.
