Multicultural NSW promotes community harmony and social cohesion in one of the most culturally diverse states in the world.
The Stronger Together Local Councils Major Festival grant funding is allocating $3 million for major festivals run by local Councils across NSW in 2025–26.
Festivals are one way to promote cross-cultural awareness and understanding. They give NSW’s culturally diverse communities the opportunity to celebrate, preserve and share traditions, and live the Multicultural Principles of the State.
Up to $250,000 in funding is available for each eligible local council.
Funding is available for festivals delivered from 1 February 2026 to 28 February 2027 and is for one event only during the funding period.
Festivals must have minimum attendance of:
10,000 people in regional NSW
30,000 people in NSW metropolitan areas
Read the funding guidelines here and then apply via Multicultural NSW SmartyGrants.
